Totem Light by Daniel Boddam

The light’s triangulated composition reflects the petals of a bougainvillea flower, arranged to shield the plant’s central stem.

Similarly, the light’s three sheets of glass are screw fixed to custom triangular steel cleats, while a central rod suspends three LED tube lights within. These illuminated elements float ethereally beyond the glass shroud, forming a vertical, crystalline structure and striking statement piece.

“I liked the idea of the light having an embodied spirit,” reflects Boddam. “The interplay of light and shadow passes through and around the totem, activating the edges of the glass and creating a dialogue between solid and void, positive and negative,” he says.
