Postmodern Peter Fagan Signed and Numbered Bronze Sculpture “The Spirit of Illinois”

Cast bronze sculpture “The Spirit of Illinois” limited edition by American listed artist Peter Fagan. Has the artist’s stamped signature and numbered 82 / 100 underneath. Square black painted wood base. The sculpture was created for the Fighting Illini Scholarship Fund for those athletes and others who are willing to make sacrifices to achieve a superior performance in their field. The bronze castings of the sculpture are all made from the same mold using the ancient Lost Wax process. Sculpture shows an abstract man and woman reaching for the sky on a large rock. *Peter Fagan was born in NY in 1939. Graduated from U of Oregon MFA in 1963. He has bronze sculptures in major public and private collections including his larger than life size standing bronze portrait of Richard J. Daley on permanent display in the rotunda of the State Capitol in Springfield, Illinois.
