Impressive pair of fireplace fender bench seats made in the English regency taste by Maitland-Smith. The bench seats feature neoclassical style x-form patinated brass arrows centered by lions head medallions. The tops of the fenders have a tooled leather surface with a gilt border. The benches are solid and sturdy with a firm seat measuring 20 inches high. The strong frame is metal with a painted ebony finish. The leather has an intentionally aged patina to mimic age with a fine craquelure finish. Artisan crafted by Maitland-Smith with labels on bottom. Sold as a pair from an estate in the Napa Valley, CA.
