Winnowing basket is tool for “winnowing” which it process for separating grain from husk, using air. Two people move basket up and down rapidly to get air included in grain and husk blows away. Used for decades in agricultural harvesting of wheat and various grains. Originally from Africa. Now used as Wall decor – offices, buildings, homes on walls or tables or ottomans. This basket is hand woven of sweet grass and bamboo, held in place by wire, string, metal and bamboo strands.
