Beautiful late 18th century oakwood cabinet or buffet from the so-called “Josephinism” Period in Austria. This one of a kind, solid oak cupboard was handmade around 1780 and consists of two parts: the lower one with a large double door provides a lot of storage space on two compartments and an attached upper part which is divided into three compartments. Both can be locked with the still original, fully functional locks and are additionally adorned by brass applications. A simple but impressive crafted buffet which was part of the inventory of a bourgeouis villa near Vienna. The artfully set oakwood veneer with gorgeous inlayed frameworks combined with the fantastic looking design makes this fully restored 18th century cabinet a real eye-catcher. The beveled pilasters on the highboy show lovely carved wooden elements looking like litte flowers. Coming in perfect refurbished condition, this 18th century josephinism cabinet/ buffet would be the perfect addition for a dining room or a large living room.
