This early 20th century tea table and set of four stools were carved of a fine hardwood with a tight grain and beautiful, warm coloring. The detailed style of carving on the legs and aprons was described to us by the collector from whom we acquired it as “like the scales on a dragon’s back”, a pattern which we have never before encountered. We love the inherent luxury of the wood and the unusual yet timeless texture – serious, fashionable and happy at the same time.
